The Purse of Gold

A Jewish Folktale

A beggar found a purse had dropped in the marketplace. When he opened the purse, the bag contained 100 pieces of gold. Then he heard a merchant shout, "A reward! A reward to the one who finds my purse!"

He is a honest man, the beggar came forward and handed the purse to the merchant  and saying, "Here is your purse. May I have the reward now?"

"Reward?" scoffed the merchant, greedily counting his gold. "When the purse dropped had 200 pieces of gold in it. You've already stolen more than the reward! Go away or I'll tell the police."

"I'm an honest man," said the beggar defiantly. "Let us take this matter to the court."

In court the judge patiently listened to both sides of the story and said, "I believe you both. Justice is possible! Merchant, you stated that the purse you lost contained 200 pieces of gold. Well, that's a considerable cost. But, the purse this beggar found had only 100 pieces of gold. Therefore, it couldn't be the one you lost."

The Purse Emas

Sebuah cerita rakyat Yahudi
Seorang pengemis menemukan dompet di pasar. Ia membukanya,  dompet itu berisi 100 keping emas. Kemudian ia mendengar teriakan pedagang, "Hadiah Sebuah hadiah bagi orang yang menemukan dompet kulit saya!"

Menjadi orang yang jujur​​, pengemis maju dan menyerahkan dompet ke pedagang mengatakan, "Inilah dompet Anda Mei aku berhak menerima upah sekarang?."

"Hadiah?" ejek pedagang, rakus menghitung emasnya. "Saat saya menjatuhkan tas saya ada 200 keping emas di dalamnya. Anda sudah mencuri lebih dari hadiah Pergi atau aku akan lapor polisi.!"

"Saya orang jujur​​," kata pengemis itu menantang. "Mari kita membawa masalah ini kepengadilan."

Di pengadilan hakim dengan sabar mendengarkan kedua sisi cerita dan berkata,"Saya percaya ada Keadilan !. Merchant, Anda menyatakan bahwadompet Anda hilang berisi 200 keping emas Nah,. Itu biaya yang cukup besar. Tapi, pengemis ini menemukan hanya 100 keping emas Oleh karena itu, tidak bisa salah satu hilang.. "

Dan, dengan itu, hakim memberikan dompet dan semua emas ke pengemis.
